Veteran Habits Study

The Veterans’ HABIT project consists of a comprehensive 24-month study towards understanding the pathways to problem gambling and the access to interventions, presenting policy and practice solutions. Through utilising a mixed methods approach of a survey and semi-structured interviews with the ex-armed forces community, the study aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • To better understand the pathways to, and predictors of, gambling related harm among UK military veterans.
  • To explore and develop ways of measurement and co-design a process for systematically gathering, recording, and analysing data on the AnonyMind platform.
  • To raise awareness of help and support available for veterans experiencing gambling related harms and their affected others.
  • To capture the lived experience of veterans who have struggled with gambling harm.
